Salary: $98,407.44 - $114,234.48 Annually

If so, the Seattle Department of Human Resources is recruiting for a new Compensation & Classification Supervisor.

In this role, you would manage a team of four analysts and an analyst assistant and report to the Compensation Program Manager.

You would be:

  • A "hands on" supervisor who assigns and monitors work, ensuring that deliverables are met
  • A mentor and builder of team member skills
  • A leader, helping the team identify and implement workflow process improvements, including any changes to policies and procedures
  • In charge of work for and resulting from City Council ordinances and legislation
  • A resource for compensation and classification research
  • A participant in review, design, development and/or implementation of classification plans and structures

  Job Responsibilities:  

To be effective in this role, you have successfully: 

  • Led a team, developed team skill levels, and met organization goals
  • Incorporated workforce equity and race and social justice into your work
  • Assigned, overseen, and participated in classification and compensation surveys and studies
  • Reviewed, analyzed, and/or implemented changes based on local, State, and federal laws pertaining to compensation
  • Worked with Labor Relations and supported collective bargaining activities
  • Taken part in review, design, development and/or implementation of classification plans and structures


Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in classification and compensation, one of which must have been in a lead or supervisory role

Education:A bachelor's degree in human resources, business or public administration, or a related field

Equivalency:All applications will be evaluated for combinations of experience, training, certification, and education that provide an equivalent background to perform this job. Certification as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) will substitute for one year of required experience.
