As a Senior Compensation Consultant, you play a meaningful role in shaping Premera's growth and transformation by providing guidance on compensation issues to the organization. Your work is vital in the design, implementation, administration, and revision of Premera’s base and variable compensation programs in order to attract, retain, and motivate employees at all levels. You will work collaboratively with groups across Premera, at all levels of leadership, regarding compensation practices and principles that align with Premera’s mission, vision, values and culture, in support of continuous improvement and organizational performance.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, implement and continuously improve compensation programs and processes that attract, motivate, and retain highly productive employees and support business objectives

  • Identify key compensation trends, issues and opportunities, conduct market analysis, and outline strategic alternatives and action plans to leadership that support Premera’s compensation philosophy

  • Provide strategic consulting to the business and develop creative solutions for various compensation issues, including setting appropriate pay levels, base pay, annual incentive pay (may include sales compensation) and other rewards

  • Partner closely with other HR teams on design, policy development, guidelines, and implementation of key compensation programs and actively participate in rollout of company-wide HR initiatives and programs

  • Effectively manage and maintain current plans, systems, and tools:

    • Participate in assigned salary surveys, evaluating jobs using established systems, determining pay grade assignments, FLSA status, etc.,
    • Manage the company's salary grades and job classification structures, analyzing pay practice, and ensure compliance with all applicable legal standards
  • Represent the Compensation and Benefits Team and model Premera’s values with assigned departments, management, and executives

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, human resources or 4 years’ work experience

  • 8 years’ experience in progressive business environment, including 5 years’ experience in a compensation related function

  • Experience with financial analysis, business analysis, data analytics and/or reporting responsibilities

  • In-depth knowledge of current compensation processes, practices, and employment law with

    experience applying this knowledge in various situations within an organization

  • Knowledge of compensation theory, planning, design, audit, and trends with emphasis on market

    pricing and substantial modeling and analysis experience

  • Proven ability to effectively facilitate groups with excellent presentation skills
